VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) – A person was hurt in a house fire that displaced two people in Vancouver on Sunday, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.
Just after 2 p.m., firefighters responded to the report of a fire on Northeast 47th Street, and the caller said people were trapped inside the house.
When crews arrived, they learned only one person was still inside, and found smoke coming from the garage and the attic.
Firefighters hurried into the smoke-filled house to find the person just inside the front door carrying two dogs. They helped the person get outside and evaluated them for smoke inhalation. They were then taken to a nearby hospital where they are expected to be okay.

According to firefighters, six dogs in total were also rescued from the fire, and crews were able to knock down the flames in about 10 minutes.
No one else was reported hurt and the Red Cross is helping the two displaced people and their pets find temporary shelter.
In a statement about the fire, firefighters said they urge people to not go back inside a burning house to search for family pets.
“Fires produce carbon monoxide and other deadly toxic gases that can be devastating to your health,” firefighters said.
