HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – Firefighters responded to an Indian Harbor home that caught fire with multiple pets inside, leaving only one puppy unharmed.
Payne Springs Fire Rescue arrived at the home around 12:32 a.m. Saturday, finding the middle of the home engulfed in heavy fire.
While a resident told them all the people made it out safely, several animals were still inside.
After searching inside, several dogs were removed from the home but did not survive. However, one puppy was saved and returned to the resident.
Neither the people that were in the home nor the firefighters were injured.
The American Red Cross responded to help the residents as well as Gun Barrel City Fire, Eustace Fire and UT Health EMS.
