‘1000-Lb Best Friends’ Fans Concerned About Meghan’s 11 Cats

1000-Lb Best Friends fans love that Meghan Crumpler has a big heart when it comes to animals. But in the Season 3 premiere, the TLC star revealed she has 11 cats in her home.

Can she properly care for the animals? See what viewers had to say on Reddit.

1000-Lb Best Friends Fans Can’t Believe Meghan Has 11 Cats

Meghan Crumpler has always loved animals. On social media, she often shares updates on her kitties. But viewers think she’s taken it too far.

“First off I don’t think that’s legal unless you have a cattery license, but maybe it’s different in every state?” a Redditor wrote online regarding Meghan’s 11 furry friends. “How does she afford so many cats? The food and litter alone would be hundreds a month. Then when you take into account the vet bills. Does she get them medical care? Does she license them? Do they get their shots? What about being fixed? What happens when one of them gets sick?”

The OP went on to share a personal story of the high cost associated with pet care, especially when the animal gets older. On top of that, putting cats to sleep when they’re old or sick can also be emotionally devastating on top of the added cost.

Plenty of other Reddit users offered their own opinions, agreeing that 11 was too many. Several Redditors even identified as cat lovers too.

Replies on the post included:

  • I’m a cat person, and that’s too many cats. No city would prove of that.”
  • She needs an animal hoarders intervention. It’ll only take one cat with a respiratory infection to sneeze and make most to all of them sick.”
  • Her husband must be working overtime scooping litter boxes because there’s no way she is”
  • I’m confused how they suddenly have money to afford all these cats when just recently they were mooching off Tina living in her basement.”

The TLC Star Admitted She Has Pets Because She Never Had Children

On this season of 1000-Lb Best Friends, Meghan Crumpler admitted she always wanted to be a mother. But sadly, that never happened for a wide range of reasons. Instead, she cares for cats and that’s why she has so many. They give her a sense of purpose.

Rescuing animals is admirable, but having so many cats in one location without a license or help may be pushing the boundaries.

What do you think about the situation? Is 11 cats too many? Does Meghan Crumpler have an animal hoarding problem? Share your own thoughts and ideas in the comments.
