107 pet dogs registered on Day 1 of AMC’s drive against rabies

In response to a notification from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) mandating the registration of pet dogs in the city, 73 pet owners registered a total of 107 dogs online by Wednesday evening, the first day of the initiative.
The initiative is part of AMC’s efforts to make Ahmedabad rabies-free and is aligned with the National Action Plan for Dog Mediated Rabies Elimination (NAPRE). Pet owners in the city have been given 90 days to complete the registration process on the official AMC website at ahmedabadcity.gov.in. Ahmedabad will become the first city in Gujarat to make the entire registration process online. Naresh Rajput, head of the AMC’s CNCD department, said, “On the first day of the registration process, over 100 pet dogs were registered online. This initiative is carried out for a rabies-free Ahmedabad. The registration also requires owners to upload a rabies vaccine certificate of the dog.” AM
