EXETER TWP., Pa. — A Berks County boy was honored with a citizenship award on Sunday.
The boy, 11-year-old Cole Lechuga, was at Perfect Match Pet Shop in Exeter Township when it caught fire back on June 4th.
He's credited with getting all the cats out of the store on that day, along with birds, guinea pigs, and ferrets.
Cole says he didn't realize the building was on fire at first, but once he did, he had one thing on his mind, and that was to get the animals out.
Berks Cats in Crisis and the Reading Fightin Phils presented Cole with his award.
