Firefighters rescued a dozen pets from a burning home in Regina, but one dog did not survive.
Regina Fire & Protective Services said it was called to the fire in the 1100 block of Empress Street just after 8 p.m. CST Monday.
Crews put out the fire, which was contained in just one suite of the multi-family building.
Firefighters brought out six kittens, four adult cats and two dogs, but one of the dogs died.
The remaining pets are in the care of the Regina Humane Society.
No people were reported to be injured.
The fire remains under investigation.
