SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – This week’s 2nd Chance Pet has a miraculous survival story.
Elaine Baell from Pet Refuge joined us on WNDU 16 News Now at Noon on Labor Day to introduce us to a kitten named Whisper Penguin.
You might think that’s a mouthful, but once you hear her story, it will all make sense.
Whisper Penguin came to the shelter about four weeks ago in very bad shape. Baell says she was covered in fleas and couldn’t even lift her head.
Desperately needing blood, she received a donation from a dog named Whisper who was also receiving treatment at the shelter, thus forever solidifying their connection and her name.
Now, she’s about ready to find her forever home! Baell says she is a little shy, but she loves being held and will be a great lap cat.
To learn more about Whisper Penguin and to see if she is a good fit for your home, watch the video above!
If you want to adopt Whisper Penguin or any other pet, you can call Pet Refuge at 574-231-1122 or you can stop by the shelter at 4626 S. Burnett Drive on South Bend’s south side.
