Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews were called to a house fire at the 1900 block of Norview Avenue Wednesday afternoon just before 12:30 p.m.
NORFOLK, Va. — Three people and their pets are displaced after a fire broke out at their home in Norfolk Wednesday afternoon.
Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews were called to a house fire at the 1900 block of Norview Avenue just before 12:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the roof of the home. By the time they started attacking the fire, it had spread to into the attic and the second floor of the house.
Officials say a construction crew was working on the roof at the time of the fire. The fire marshal’s office is now investigating what caused the blaze.
No one was injured in the fire. Two residents who were at the house when the fire broke out escaped with their dog, but Norfolk Fire-Rescue says four cats are unaccounted for.
