A fire destroyed a home in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and left three pets dead.The duplex at 53 Old Bedford Road was gutted by intense flames early Sunday afternoon.Mandy Adao, who lives in the house, said she and her son were home when she heard a pop from her second-floor bedroom and immediately saw flames moving up the side of the building. That's when they scrambled to get themselves and their dog out of the fire.”I yelled for my son. He came out. We ran downstairs. We couldn't go out the door because it's all in flames,” Adao said. “So, I'm like, ‘Go through the living room and out the window.' Pushed him out the window, told the dog to follow him, ran back, got my keys and my wallet, and jumped out the window.”Another woman who lives on the other side of the duplex was also able to escape the burning home through a window.Sadly, three cats perished in the fire.David Adao, Mandy's husband, was working nearby and raced home to see the house engulfed in flames.Witnesses told NewsCenter 5 that it appears the fire started on a side porch that is next to several cars that also caught fire.The Adao family lost everything in the fire, so their friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help them recover.The cause of the fire has not yet been officially determined.
