PORTLAND, MAINE — Pet CBD + CBDA company ElleVet Sciences announced it has received a patent, US Patent No. 11,712,456, covering the usage of hemp extract for pain management in pets.
According to the company, its proprietary CBD + CBDA blend has shown successful results in clinical trials for addressing pain, as well as atopic dermatitis and epilepsy, in dogs.

In 2017, the company completed its first-ever clinical trial on dogs, hoping to address osteoarthritis, at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. According to ElleVet, the trial showed that its products significantly or dramatically improved the comfort and mobility in 75% of dogs, demonstrating the effectiveness of its hemp blends.

ElleVet’s patented hemp extract has shown superior effectiveness compared to other hemp-based products for pets currently on the market, according to the company. The company has incorporated the extract into a variety of pet products, including soft chews, soft gels, oils, pastes and other formats for dogs and cats.
