Katie Price has reportedly given away her puppy Tank because the pet pooch no longer ‘looks cute on Instagram'.

The former glamour model, 45, is no longer an owner of the dog after bringing him into her family home in West Sussex last year.

The mother-of-five decided to get rid of the puppy, which was her seventh pet, after ‘losing interest' in him because she needed to ‘train' him, reports The Sun.

And friends claim it is a recurring theme for Katie, who only recently gave another pet dog to a local tradesman.

A source said: ‘Katie only got Duke a few months ago but she gave him away to her electrician.

‘She loves getting puppies that look cute on Instagram but when they start to grow up and she has to train them she loses interest.'

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Katie Price for comment.

It comes after Katie was accused of hitting her new puppy Tank in a TikTok Livev last year, after activists called for her to be banned from keeping animals.

She revealed in August she'd adopted a new pet after the death of her protection dog Blade in June.

And in a  livestream, users claimed that Katie appeared to slap Tank off-screen after he began sitting on her clothes.

In the stream, Tank had been messing around while Katie spoke to her followers, explaining she was trying to get her kids and the dog ‘settled'.

She yelled: ‘Get off! You're sitting on my jumpers, my love jumpers that I love. Get off. Jesus Christ… Anyway, as I was saying…'

As Tank moved out of shot, Katie could be seen raising her hand to the animal, with users claiming they heard a ‘loud smack'.

Laughing it off, Katie said: ‘It's hectic in here,' while her friend added: ‘It's like having a baby – worse actually. At least a baby would just sit there.'

Several users then commented under Katie's post claiming she'd slapped the puppy, with one writing: ‘Did she just hit her dog?' while another added: ‘Omggggg.'

MailOnline contacted a representative for Katie Price for comment.

Leading animal charity PETA has previously slammed Katie after her seventh pet died in her care – saying she has ‘blood on her hands'.

The star has faced a slew of tragedies over the past six years, including the deaths of now five dogs, a horse and even her chameleon, Marvin.

PETA Vice President of Programmes Elisa Allen has now told MailOnline: ‘After a seventh animal died in her custody, Katie Price should be facing more than the court of public opinion – she should face a court of law and be banned for life from keeping animals.

‘PETA urges authorities to look into Blade's death and reminds the public that it's not just Price who has blood on her hands.

‘Greedy breeders who keep selling or ‘gifting' animals to her are also to blame, as they know full well what the likely outcome will be.'

Katie announced Blade's death on Instagram, writing: ‘Words can't express the lost of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today.

‘I have no words to say how I'm feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade.'

Blade's death comes just seven months after another of Katie's dogs, Sharon, was killed on the same road.

Sharon was killed when she allegedly escaped and ran on to the road where she was hit by a car. She was picked up off the A24 by the driver and taken to Arun Vets in Pulborough, West Sussex, where her death was confirmed.

In 2020, Katie's pet dog Rolo suffocated in her home, while her alsatian Sparkle was mowed down in February of the same year, in shocking echoes of the death of her dog Queenie, who was killed in 2018.

In July 2020, Katie was criticised by animal rights activists after Rolo's suffocation. The French bulldog died after getting stuck in an electric armchair while the reality star was packing some bags in another room, reported The Mirror.

Rolo was given to her daughter Princess as a birthday present.

Katie later revealed her shock after she was illegally advised to give her late puppy Rolo cannabis oil before he ‘suffocated to death in an armchair'.

Katie told The Mirror that she was unaware that it is illegal to give dogs the substance without a veterinary prescription, in accordance with the The Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.

One of Katie's horses was tragically hit by a car and killed in 2017 after escaping from a field.

And in 2018 her dog Queenie was struck and killed by a delivery driver.
