Two events will be held on Saturday, March 16, firstly in Oaklands from 9am – 11am and Urana 12pm – 2pm.
“Not only will your dog and/or cat receive FREE microchipping (if they’re 4 months or older), but they’ll also enjoy complimentary registration checks. It’s a no-brainer for your pet’s safety and your peace of mind,” Federation Council Mayor Pat Bourke said.
“To keep you and your fur babies energised, we’re firing up the grill for a FREE sausage sizzle, with special treats for your four-legged pals.
“Don’t miss the chance to meet our friendly Ranger Rob and learn about responsible pet ownership and all things animal welfare. It’s an amazing opportunity to ensure your pets are always safe, happy, and accounted for.”
Microchipping is a quick and harmless procedure where a small microchip is inserted between your pet’s shoulder blades. Microchipping provides identification only for your animal.
You must register your dog by six months and cats by four months of age.
If your microchipped pet goes astray and is taken to a vet, pound or shelter, we use the microchip’s data to contact you and quickly reunite you with your pet.
Our fury friends are so important in our lives, so this is a great opportunity to ensure your pet is microchipped so if it does go astray your fur baby can be returned safely to you.
Bring your pets, bring their friends, and let’s make sure they’re chipped and ready for all of life’s adventures!
Keep watch for the upcoming announcement for the Corowa Pet’s Day Out event planned for April.
