ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week loves a good adventure.
Meet Stream! She’s a year and a half old shepherd, terrier mix, who’s ready to find her forever home.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter, says Stream does well with other dogs and loves to go for a swim.
She also says Stream’s perfect family would be an adventurous one without any cats.
“She does not care for cats and it would be a very unfortunate situation , and we don’t do that, that’s why we make sure, those applications, we make sure there are no cats in the home or coming through the yard.” Gibson said. “Because that would be something very traumatic to see and that’s just something Stream deals with. She’s very active, we want to make sure we don’t adopt her out to any very small children, not because she’s aggressive, because she’s very active, and she moves fast and she moves hard.”
The Animal Shelter Society is also gearing up for the first ever “Wheels for Whiskers” Cruise In, sponsored by the Zane Grey “Ole” Auto Club.
It will take place this Saturday, August 24th, from 4 to 7PM on the Zane State College Campus.
“The Zane Grey “Ole” Auto Club is putting this on for us, they came forward, it’s their event, and they said “We’d like for you to be the beneficiary of some of the 50/50.” and for us to kind of educate folks that’s going to be there with their cars.” Gibson said. “Randy’s BBQ is going to be here, Pat Mathes is our DJ, everybody knows, he’s going to be here.”
