A furious fight has erupted at the gate of a dog park over an unleashed pet – sparking a heated debate online about who was in the wrong.
The short clash begins with the female owner of a dog inside the enclosed park begging another man to put a leash on his pet so she can leave.
“Just wait until it goes and then we’ll leave,” the woman pleads to her partner.
“Can you hurry up and get your dog so then we can go? You’re blocking us from leaving,” she shouts to the man as his frenzied dog sprints back and forth.
“Stop talking,” the man shoots back.
“We can’t,” she reasons.
“Get your dog so we can leave – we can’t leave cos’ your dogs there.”
The man walks up to the pair to argue with them about his unleashed dog.
“What’s my dog gonna do?” he asks.
“My dog will grab your dog, can you get your dog,” she replies in a frantic state.
“Call the police – he’s got an out-of-control dog,” she continued to her partner.
At this point, the clash escalates as the man off-screen in the leash-only park – threatens to call authorities.
“I’m calling the f***ing cops p****. F*** off or I’ll call the cops right now.”
“You’re literally blocking us from leaving, I can’t grab her (the dog) until he’s gone,” the woman adds.
The short clip ends with the man slowly walking away.
It’s unclear when or where the footage took place.
Social media users passionately debated who was at fault in the heated dog park argument.
“Irresponsible dog owner. She’s got every right to complain,” wrote one.
“That dog is totally out of control, and my dog would bite it if it came near him like that,” agreed another.
“I would just tell the guy that I’m leashing my dog and coming out with him, but if his dog approaches mine it’s not on me when my dog bites his.”
“She’s absolutely right here. He’s being an irresponsible tool. Seen too many dogs on leashes lash out at off leash dogs with no respect for boundaries,” wrote a third.
Another man sided with the woman, saying he understood her concern.
“My puppy becomes totally aggressive if a dog runs up on her, she was attacked twice before she was 1 year old at the dog park,” he wrote.
“Opal is 70kg plus now and I totally understand her concern, I have the same concerns myself on our walks.”
And while the majority of viewers found issue with the unleashed dog owner, one man from America thought the woman’s reaction was over the top.
“That man did nothing of that sort, you two are overreacting,” he wrote.
