The Oregon Humane Society is looking for a home with lots of love — and exercise — for a pair of brother cats that together weigh 45 pounds.

(For reference, most domestic short hair cats weigh 8-12 pounds.)

Yuki, 26 pounds, and Nikko, 19 pounds, came to the animal rescue after their previous owner was no longer able to care for them. The chubby 9-year-old blue and white tabbies are “as sweet and friendly as they are large” and have been described by the Oregon Humane Society as “aggressively affectionate.”

They love following around their human companions and playing with toys.

The pair will also need a weight-loss program overseen by a veterinarian.

“Right now they are in a room with glass walls that face our lobby, and they seem very intrigued by all the people coming in,” said Laura Klink, spokesperson with Oregon Humane Society. “The minute you meet them, they are both ready for pets and love after about 15 seconds.”

Yuki and Nikko are available for adoption at the Oregon Humane Society Portland Campus, 1067 N.E. Columbia Blvd., open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. The adoption fee is $25 for both cats.
