AUSTIN, TEXAS — On March 14, A Pup Above announced a partnership with Southeast Pet to expand its regional distribution. Southeast Pet will begin distributing the pet food company’s products, including its reformulated dog food, which includes bone broth, beginning the end of March 2022.

“A Pup Above is thrilled to expand its distribution with Southeast Pet, one of the most respected pet supply and food distributors in the nation,” said Javier Marriott, co-founder and president of A Pup Above. “Southeast Pet exceeds expectations by fueling retailer growth by understanding the difference between trends and fads and having a dedicated team that provides unsurpassed service.”

Founded in 1975, Southeast Pet has two distribution centers based in Austell, Ga., and Lakeland, Fla., offering about 210,00 square feet of warehouse space. The company exclusively distributes to independent pet specialty retailers throughout Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and North and South Carolina.

“Southeast Pet is very excited to be partnering with, family owned and operated, A Pup Above,” said Pete Cooper, vice president of sales, Southeast Pet. “The relatively new gently cooked category has exploded in recent years and A Pup Above is uniquely positioned to help our retailers capitalize on this trend.”

A Pup Above’s partnership with Southeast Pet is just one of the company’s numerous efforts in distribution expansions. In the past four months, A Pup Above has expanded its presence in the Southwest and Midwest, reaching about 1,000 stores. The company estimates that by the end of 2022 its products will appear in 3,000 stores nationwide.

“We are proud to support and partner exclusively with the neighborhood pet channel to grow the gently cooked category,” Marriott said. “With the release of our new revamped recipes with bone broth, we are expecting to see increased excitement and growth. Bone broth is an amazing superfood, packed with collagen and amino acids to nourish our pups.”
