ADM unveils 7 new functional formulas in EU, UK

CHICAGO — ADM announced the launch of seven turnkey pet product formulas to the European market. The functional formulas are available in soft chew and supplement powder sachet formats and, according to the company, “feature highly sought-after wellness claims that are science-backed and compliant with European regulations, providing consumers with trusted options to support their pets’ wellness journey.”

Recent ADM Outside Voice℠ consumer research showed that 85% of global pet parents believe proper nutrition and supplements are as important for their pets as they are for themselves.

“As individuals prioritize healthy lifestyles, there’s a growing trend among pet owners to extend this same care to their beloved companion animals,” said Jorge Martínez, president of Pet Nutrition, ADM. “Our research finds that over half of European pet parents would be willing to pay more for treats with benefits than for treats that don’t have a supplementary ingredient.”

The pet health and supplement category in the United Kingdom is expected to grow by a CAGR of 8.6% through 2026, according to Euromonitor Consulting. In addition, functional treats for dogs and cats in the UK market have a forecasted CAGR of more than 12% through 2026.

Many of the active ingredients that are currently popular in supporting human health, such as pre-, pro- and postbiotics, can be effective for pets. As more consumers make the connection between gut health and other aspects of wellbeing, microbiome solutions are also growing in demand.

Calming: Supports balanced behavior with a blend of postbiotics, L-tryptophan, vitamin B, magnesium and chamomile.
Dental: Supports oral health with a proprietary postbiotic strain as well as inactivated yeast, botanicals, vitamin C and calcium.
Digestion: Supports gut health through botanicals, biotic solutions and inactivated yeast.
Longevity: Supports wellbeing of aging dogs through pre-, pro- and postbiotics, inactivated yeast, botanicals and vitamin E.
Mobility: Supports joint health with chondroitin, MSM, glucosamine, curcumin, vitamin E and postbiotics.
Skin: Supports healthy skin and coat using pre- and postbiotics, vitamin E, Omega 3s and hyaluronic acid.
