LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Laredo Animal Care Services is celebrating the upcoming journey of Charlie, a sweet dog who is about to be adopted by a family in Pennsylvania.
Charlie, a small German Shepherd mix, will leave for her new home soon, but until then, the shelter is looking for a foster home. “Charlie is a great dog,” said Jeena Tijerina with Laredo Animal Care Services.
There are still over 300 dogs at the shelter needing homes or fosters.
With cooler weather, the shelter is asking for donations like blankets, dog and cat food, toys, and sweaters.
The shelter is also hosting a special event on December 21 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a “Meet and Greet with Santa.” Families can take photos with Santa, bring their pets, and enjoy activities.
Laredo Animal Care Services is located at 5202 Maher Avenue and is open Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. People looking to adopt or foster a pet can visit the shelter and find a new furry friend. “Adopt, don’t shop” is the message the shelter shares.
