Meet NorthJersey.com's adoptable pets of the week for March 7!
Each week, NorthJersey.com would like to highlight adoptable animals from local shelters and rescues.
If you foster, work at, or volunteer with a North Jersey animal shelter or rescue and know of some animals who are in need of a loving fur-ever home please send a photo, description and adoption information to amwallace@gannett.com to have your adoptable pets featured in the next edition.
This week we are featuring Hazel and Hudson from Pawsitively Furever Dog Rescue in Hackensack.
Hazel
Hazel is the last longtime resident at the rescue. She has been waiting for an adopter for two years.
Despite her previous owners having to part ways with her due to housing restrictions, this pit bull mix's resilient spirit has led her to a new chapter in foster care. Though her exuberance and protective instincts sometimes overshadow her affectionate nature, Hazel has found solace and guidance in her current foster family, which includes two canine companions.
Hazel has mastered commands like sit, paw and wait and shows a willingness to learn more each day. As she searches for her forever home, she longs for strong, supportive owners who will continue her training journey and reciprocate her unwavering loyalty. With the right guidance and love, Hazel will be a cherished companion for years to come.
Hudson
Hudson is still on the search for his forever home after recently being stood up by a potential adopter. Estimated to be about 6 months old, he was originally brought into the shelter and set to be euthanized because he had a fractured leg. With surgery and care he made a quick recovery.
Hudson is a sweet, active pup that loves his toys, playing and cuddling. He is good with dogs and children. While Hudson is good with cats, he does like to play with them. He is fairly house trained, and crate trained with a few accidents.
