Adoptable pets from Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter in East Hanover

Meet NorthJersey.com's adoptable pets of the week for July 19!

Each week, NorthJersey.com would like to highlight adoptable animals from local shelters and rescues.

If you foster, work at, or volunteer with a North Jersey animal shelter or rescue and know of some animals who are in need of a loving fur-ever home, please send a photo, description, and adoption information to amwallace@gannett.com to have your adoptable pets featured in the next edition.

This week, we are featuring Bagel and Jamie from the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter in East Hanover.

Bagel

Bagel is an adult American bully who can be described as friendly, affectionate, loyal, playful, funny, and a couch potato who loves kisses. She is a very special lady who Mount Pleasant says has been at the shelter for way too long and is need of a more permanent home.

Bagel enjoys walks, car rides, relaxing on the sofa, savoring treats, and offering companionship. She adores being tucked into bed with a soft blanket. Her other joys include basking in the sun and playing with her new favorite toy.

One of the shelter's volunteers takes her home for overnight stays and says that she is the best house guest!

This loving girl will cover you with kisses and relishes a good cuddle. She sits with a curious expression, her ears drawing attention – one pointing up and the other flopping to the side. She also has captivating hazel eyes. Her robust figure enhances her adorable wiggles, and her love is unconditional.

If you are interested in Bagel, you can stop by the shelter or visit the shelter's website at https://njshelter.org/adoption-process/ to fill out an application.

Jamie

Jamie, 4, is an adult tabby who can be described as friendly, affectionate, gentle, quiet and dignified. Despite being FIV positive, which may affect his immune system, he can lead a normal life with the right care and attention.

He adores head rubs, loves kisses, purrs loudly and will chirp for more attention.

Jamie was adopted out a few years ago but his owner recently abandoned him outside. Animal Control picked him up and called Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter who has since taken him in.

He is the sweetest guy, but with his FIV status, he needs to be the only cat in the house or in a house with other FIV+ cats.

If you are interested in Jamie, you can stop by the shelter or visit the shelter's website at https://njshelter.org/adoption-process/ to fill out an application.
