Daviess County Animal Care & Control is holding an adoption special this week leading up to the inaugural Pups in the Park event. Adult dogs and cats may be adopted for no fee at the animal shelter.
For puppies and kittens, a reduced fee of $25 will be in effect.
The animal shelter is located at 2620 KY 81. It is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but is closed from 12-1 p.m. daily for lunch. On Saturday, hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pups in the Park is a new festival planned for Panther Creek Park on September 20-22, featuring a canine aquatics competition with Kentucky DockDogs. Other highlights include American Kennel Club (AKC) events, trainer demonstrations, a microchip clinic, a temporary dog park, a splash pad, food vendors, merchants, and kids’ activities.
