An adorable pooch has miraculously survived a horrific accident that left her without her front legs, and she's now on the lookout for a new family to call her own.
The brave canine, named Xena, was tragically hit by a train, resulting in the loss of both her front limbs but, thanks to the aid of a wheelchair, she's back on the move and ready for adoption.
Miracle Missions has taken the resilient two-year-old crossbreed under their wing, eager to find her a home where she'll be showered with love and care.
Their heartfelt statement shared: “Poor Xena was hit by a train and lost both her front legs. But she made a great recovery and uses wheels for her walks.”
They further detailed Xena's adaptability, noting: “She is also mobile in her own fashion sometimes standing on her hind legs, other times shuffling along on her belly.”
Despite the adversity she's faced, Xena, who is poised to travel from Egypt to the UK, has won hearts with her sweet nature and compatibility with people, dogs and cats alike.
The statement continued: “She is an absolute sweetheart. Whoever takes Xena will need to have a vet who is sympathetic to the needs of disabled dogs, and will not just see her missing legs and assume her life is bad because it isn't. She is very very happy as she is.”
Social media users have rallied behind Xena's cause, with one Facebook commenter expressing: “Amazing for caring. Kindness to this beautiful adorable precious dog.”
Another chimed in, stressing the importance of finding an adopter who can advocate for Xena's quality of life against any sceptical vets, praising the rescue's exceptional efforts and highlighting the dog's evident joy.
Another user chimed in, saying: “What a beautiful little girl. Hopefully she will find that special family.” One more user added: “Every life deserves the very best chance.”
Miracle's Mission, a registered UK charity, primarily operates in the UK, Borneo and Egypt, with the aim of safeguarding animals at risk.
According to the organisation: “Our mission is to provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the needs of neutering both pets and strays and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals onto the streets.”
The charity also focuses on rehabilitating and rehoming dogs in need, including those with disabilities at their UK rescue base. If you are interested in adopting Xena, contact Miracle's Mission at info@miraclesmission.org.
