Privacy screens are a simple way to make the garden more private and they can have added benefits for your pets too
If your dog barks at other dogs and cats through the fence you might want to think about blocking the view to keep them calmer. Especially if you have a pooch which reacts at the first sight of another dog and is territorial, because while their reaction is normal as they guard their home and occupants, it's far less relaxing if you're trying to enjoy your garden.
Privacy fences or screens are a great way of blocking gaps in fences and they are a quick solution to the problem. They can also be used to block out nosey neighbours or to hide boring walls and make your outdoor space more aesthetically pleasing.
The WOLTU Balcony Privacy Screen is selling on Amazon for a reduced price of £21.99 for a 10m length. It was previously selling at £23.99.

It comes in varying sizes to suit your needs, the smallest size available is 6m up to 30m lengths. Amazon say it's knitted from high-quality 150g/m² HDPE – a type of plastic with a high density.
Coming in either anthracite or green colours, the privacy screen is said to be breathable, quick drying and resistant to mould. And it comes with cable ties included to allow you to easily attach to existing fences.
If you are after something that might blend better in your garden, B&Q have a Natural Wicker Garden screen which is 1.8m high and 3m long on sale for £50.
If you're not keen on spending that much, SHEIN is offering its VANDHAM Heavy Duty Privacy Fence Screen for £8.17, down from £9.25 at the moment. It comes in various sizes and is coffee brown in colour which might suit your needs.
The Amazon privacy screen is a good option and seems to have worked for those with dogs who bark.
One five star reviewer said: “Can't fault this, good quality, very easy to install. Bought it to stop the dog barking at next door's cats and it's worked. He's not so pleased but it has helped considerably.”
Another also bought it because of their barking dog and was impressed, also rating it five stars. They said: “I have used the on my front garden fence, to stop the dog kicking off at cat and other dogs. I did double this up, to fully block out the fence but with the amount you get was easily done. This product is great and good value for money.”
A third agreed saying: “Brought this to hide dogs down the lane from us, as my dog keeps seeing them and obviously barking at them, it works a treat brilliant my problem solved.”
Although some customers said it didn't give enough privacy. One said: “Only downfall is, it's still pretty see through even with me doubling it up. I bought this to help separate mine and the neighbours dog, not sure this will be enough to fool them.”
Another had to be inventive to get the privacy they required. They said: “Luckily I had enough of this to double over and use on the smaller of my fences which provided the privacy I wanted. One layer and I was able to see straight though the gaps.”
With more than 5,000 reviews on the site, and a 4.6 star rating, others were impressed with the way it looked too.
One said: “Looks great. Will be adding decor when sunnier days are here,” with another adding: “Made my garden look much neater and gave more privacy.”
