Amber is our Pet of the Week. She was abandoned in a box at the height of kitten season, and when temperatures were most brutal. Amber and her sister, Sage, suffered heat exhaustion and barely had any air remaining because the box was taped up. Luckily someone found them, just in the nick of time to rescue them. After IV fluids they bounced back quickly. Sage was adopted soon after arriving at SOS Animal Shelter, but Amber is still patiently waiting for her forever home. Amber is much more reserved than her sister, and not as attention driven as the rest of the teenage kittens in our cattery. She enjoys entertaining herself with the toys throughout the kitten room. We would consider Amber one of our independent kittens, and she would be perfect for a family on the go. We always recommend kittens in pairs, but not everyone can adopt two kittens because it’s double the commitment, however Amber would be perfect for someone wanting a single kitten. Now don’t get us wrong, Amber will be fine in a home with other cats, but she is also perfectly content being the only cat. If you are looking for a cat who is independent and not too needy, stop into SOS and meet our Lone Wolf, Amber.
SOS really appreciates donations! These are some of the things we always need. Purina Cat Naturals dry food (olive green bag), Kitten Chow dry food, Bleach (any brand), Pine Pellets Horse bedding (used for cat litter), Purina One dog food, laundry detergent (any brand). Please check out our wishlists on Amazon and Chewy for other needed items. We also welcome volunteers at the shelter, and at our monthly dog washes through the summer.
