Pet friendly ghost tours are more popular around Halloween.
But, they’re a fun way to learn the history of some of America’s oldest cities any time of the year! And, since they often take place in the evenings when the weather is cooler, pet friendly ghost tours are a nice activity during a summer road trip.

When looking for a pet friendly ghost tour, focus on walking tours conducted exclusively outdoors.
These tours are more likely to welcome your furry travel buddy.

There are even some tour operators who believe dogs are especially sensitive to the paranormal and will make special accommodations for them.
If you find a tour you really want to take, and it involves going inside building or riding on a bus, ask if they’ll allow you to bring your pet in a carrier or stroller.

Plan Ahead

Naturally, October is a very popular month to take a pet friendly ghost tour.
Expect to book your place in advance, because few tour operators allow walk-ins.

Check the company’s website carefully for information on how to make reservations and where to join the tour.
