An upset Longford dog owner is seeking the public’s assistance to help find her two beloved pets.
The two dogs – a Rottweiler and Husky – are very friendly, family pets and they are missing from the Kenagh / Moydow area.
Owner Deirdre Houten explained the dogs were both last seen on Sunday morning, November 10 when they were let out.
She added, “We are not sure if they went wandering or if they were stolen but we suspect they have been lifted somewhere along the way as absolutely no one in the area has seen any sight of them.”

Deirdre and her family have searched the entire area from all sides and there has been no trace of the dogs anywhere.
She explained, “We just recently lost my mother in law to cancer and the Husky was actually her dog that we took in to care when she passed away. The Husky is 11 years old and is hard of hearing and has low vision.

“The Rottie is our beloved puppy we got in February this year and is adored by us all, especially our three children. The kids have already lost so much this year, when their two dogs, aged 13 and 14, crossed the rainbow bridge in April and then they lost their Nanna only two weeks ago.”
Deirdre is pleading for help to find the missing dogs. “I am begging, if someone has them or seen them, to please return them or drop them to a nearby shelter.”
They have a poster circulated locally in shops and businesses and on social media in an effort to local the missing dogs.
If you have any information as to their whereabouts please contact Deirdre Houten on 087 441 6952.
