AUSTIN, Texas — 64 dogs have been housed from Austin Pets Alive in the recent weeks amongst the Texas winter weather.
With the community’s help, the rescue found foster homes for over 50 dogs and adoptive homes for a few others.
Austin Pets Alive has heaters in every building, along with wind barriers and additional generators in case of extreme weather.

The winter weather protocols at the rescue are:
“Our teams are giving the remaining pups all the love, care, and attention they need to ensure their safety and warmth as we continue to work to place them in homes,” Austin Pet’s Alive said in a press release.
Austin Pets Alive is open from 12 p.m.
to 6 p.m.
daily.
