Australian pet food start-up Wonderfur has launched Wonderfur Bites, the supplements for specific cat and dog health needs.
The freeze-dried yoghurt bites are cube-shaped and, according to the manufacturer, can preserve active components while retaining the ingredients’ inherent potency.
Colostrum, lactose-free kefir, and inulin in these bites can help strengthen the immune system and boost the body’s natural defences. The bites, which may be used as a food topper or treat/reward, also contain zinc, turmeric, which has anti-inflammatory and skin-care properties, and goji berry, which has immune, ocular, and skin health benefits.
Wonderfur was founded when its founder, Lloyd, identified a vacuum in the Australian market where most cat and dog treats were meat-based and did not meet specific health needs.
According to the company, its freeze-dried technology, which uses a low-temperature preservation technique during manufacturing at temperatures as low as minus 35-40°C, allows up to 97 per cent of some active ingredients and nutrients to be delicately preserved and will help address a hidden issue with digestive health in Australian cats and dogs.
