BDPD: “At Large” Pets Could Mean Fines

(BEAVER DAM) Summer is the time of year Beaver Dam police get more calls about dogs and other pets running loose. Your pets need to stay on your property, or be on a leash and under your control if you’re out and about. Lieutenant Jeremiah Johnson tells  WBEV’s “Community Comment” it’s for everybody’s safety.

“When we get called and the ambulance gets called and people have to go to the hospital for stitches, that’s a sad story,” said Johnson. “You shouldn’t have to worry about walking down the street and having a dog come out and bite you.”

Johnson says the city requires licenses and rabies shots. Fines can range from $25 to $200.
