Children have helped get across the message on dog poo with some highly entertaining signs.

USERS of a trailblazing Ross-shire off road route that was years in the planning are being urged to keep their dogs under control in the run-up to lambing season.

And Peffery Way walkers are also being given a gentle reminder to pick up after their pets for the benefit of all.

The path connects Strathpeffer and Dingwall, offering a safe way to get between the two communities.

It has also become a popular route for dog walkers, runners and cyclists, offering access to a variety of other routes along the way.

The Peffery Way group which helps coordinate maintenance of the route, this weekend posted: “We’re sure most path users with dogs are responsible and understand the privilege of access comes with individual responsibilities, but just a gentle reminder…

“Please be considerate. Do not allow your dog to run way ahead of you off lead. Dogs should always be under close control. If your dog does not have a 100% recall then please keep them on their lead. It’s coming into lambing time now so even more important to have complete control of your dog. And, if you see someone not picking up their dog mess, maybe offer them a dog poo bag and encourage them to drop it in the nearest bin.

“Remember, the Peffery Way is for us all: walkers, runners, cyclists, wheelchair users, mobility scooters and dogs. Be kind and help make the path a safe place for all. Thank you.”
