BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Beaufort County Animal Services is accepting donations to help with all of the pets suffering in Western Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
A trailer is set up outside of Beaufort County Animal Services, which they hope to fill with supplies to be sent to Western North Carolina.
Officials say they are looking for anything pet related, especially bleach, livestock feed, water, dog and cat food, and litter.
Brandon Tester, Beaufort County Communications Director says, “Not only do you have people going through tremendous struggles right now you also have pets who may be with their families, they may be lost or stranded. You also have animal control facilities who need help in that area. You have to look out for them and that’s what we are doing here.”
The Beaufort County Administrative Office is also collecting supplies. That’s located at 121 West 3rd Street in Washington.
Donation dropoff is from 8: a.m. until 5:00 p.m. through Friday evening.
