Bella’s story breaks my heart. She is a ten-year-young pitty mix found as a stray in Fitchburg. Bella is currently at the Leominster and Fitchburg Animal Control kennel, but this is not the best place for a dignified older lady dog. Right now she’s on her own, and ACO believes she would adjust to living with another dog, as long as the humans are patient with introductions. Bella has a lot of energy, and still loves to run around a yard and roll on the ground with her legs in the air! She adores hanging out with people, and she’s in good health.
Older dogs have a soulfulness that younger pups just don’t have and in my experience, older dogs have an appreciation for life that makes their owner feel calm and grateful. When you spend time with your dog, stress hormones reduce, and “feel good” hormones (serutonin, dopamine, and adrenaline) rise. Having a dog is good for your health, and Bella having a permanent home is good for her health! Reach out to “Leominster Fitchburg Animal Control” on Facebook or email: Landfanimalcontrol@gmail.com.
