Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa at RR Nagar Police Station
Bengaluru: Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa on Wednesday appeared before Rajarajeshwari Nagar police and recorded a statement.
A 48-year-old woman had registered a complaint against Darshan and his dog’s caretaker after the dog allegedly bit her near his house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on October 28.
According to TV9 Kannada, Darshan told the police that he was in Gujarat, shooting for his film when the incident occurred.
Darshan told the police that he would ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.
The actor also reportedly told the dog’s caretaker to pay for the woman’s treatment who was bitten by the dog.

Darshan booked under IPC Section 289
On October 28, a woman named Amitha Jindal registered an FIR at RR Nagar Police under IPC section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) in which Darshan was named as accused A2. In her complaint, Jindal had alleged Darshan’s dog’s caretaker allegedly picked up a fight with her when she asked him to move away dogs to get into her car.

Forest department notice to Darshan
The Forest Department officials had issued a notice to Darshan after his images surfaced online in which he was seen wearing a locket in which tiger claws were embedded.
Apart from Darshan, actors Jaggesh, Nikhil Kumaraswamy and Producer Rockline Venkatesh had received notices in connection with the tiger pendant case.
