BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A woman has been reunited with her lost dog after it was stolen in March and found abandoned nearly 10 months later.
The Berkeley Animal Center said Berkeley County Sheriff's Office animal control officers received a call about abandoned dogs in a house. The dogs were located and tested for microchips, with one linking back to the woman's stolen dog.
Commenters were quick to remark on the role pet microchips played in reuniting the dog and his owner.
“Microchips WORK!” wrote one commenter. “And this is why it is best to chip your pets!!” wrote another. “Do it!”
