President Biden's beloved German shepherd Commander bit Secret Service agents in at least 24 incidents, new documents reveal.

The White House pup has been removed from the residence and is now said to be with friends of the Bidens in Delaware.

But a new report by CNN reveals that the Secret Service had to change their operations when Commander was around.

A source close to the Biden family told DailyMail.com the president and first lady are ‘heartbroken' and ‘feel awful' about the incidents.

They have apologized to those involved and taken flowers to some.

‘Commander was over-protective, and even though they tried and tried to work on it, they had to let him go live with other members of their family,' the source added.

The incidents unfolded at the White House and the Biden family homes in Rehoboth Beach and Wilmington, Delaware.

Commander was also involved in a confrontation during the Biden's Thanksgiving vacation in Nantucket and during a trip to Camp David.

Members of the Secret Services' uniformed detail and the president's protective detail were involved.

At least 10 times, the member of the Secret Service required medical treatment and injuries were inflicted on arms, hands, legs and waists, according to the records first published by John Greenewald.

A Secret Service technician in October 2022 said he was ‘worried about the family pets behavior escalating and that … something worse was going to happen to others'.

‘The recent dog bites have challenged us to adjust our operational tactics when Commander is present – please give lots of room,' an assistant special agent in charge of USSS’ Presidential Protective Division wrote to team members, according to the report.

Commander was taken out of the White House in October after he string of biting incidents.

He arrived as a puppy in 2021 and struggled to adapt to the daily frenzy inside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. That year, the Bidens lost two other German shepherds.

Three-year-old Major was also sent away after he bit two people in a month and Champ, who had been at Biden's side since he was vice president, died at the age of 13.

The White House has defended the pets and have blamed the stressful environment for their behavior.

Elizabeth Alexander, a spokesperson for Jill Biden, told DailyMail.com: ‘The President and First Lady care deeply about the safety of those who work at the White House and those who protect them every day.

‘Despite additional dog training, leashing, working with veterinarians, and consulting with animal behaviorists, the White House environment simply proved too much for Commander. Since the fall, he has lived with other family members.

In October, DailyMail.com published exclusive photos of Commander biting a White House member of staff.

The staff member, Dale Haney, 71, is not part of Biden's security team and was simply playing with the dog.

At the time, White House sources made the assertion that Commander targets members of the president's security detail because of their ‘unfriendly expressions.

It was reported as the two-year-old German Shepherd's 11th known biting incident.

Now more have emerged.

The most serious of Commander's attacks took place in November 2022 when an officer was hospitalized after the animal clamped down on their arms and thighs.

Emails obtained by conservative group Judicial Watch through a Freedom of Information Act request reveal that the incident was one of ten to take place in a four-month period.

It happened just one month after staff warned of the danger of attack after First Lady Jill Biden ‘couldn't regain control' of the animal as it charged a member of Secret Service staff.

A spokesman for the Secret Service told DailyMail.com: ‘The U.S. Secret Service takes the safety and wellbeing of our employees extremely seriously, and has been navigating how to best operate in an environment that includes family pets for many Presidential administrations.

‘The incidents involving Commander were treated as workplace injuries, with events documented in accordance with Secret Service and US Department of Homeland Security guidelines.

‘While Secret Service personnel neither handle nor care for the first family’s pets, we work continuously with all applicable entities in order to minimize any adverse impacts from family pets.'
