There is a bill in Congress that proposes to send released research laboratory animals to welcoming sanctuaries or be adopted.
House Resolution 1465, better known as Violet’s Law, would spare the primates, dogs and cats, guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits used for federal research from more suffering.
After years of organ experiments, dehydration, starvation, isolation and worse, many of these pets are incinerated to ashes. The proposal would allow animals used in research to be adopted or placed in nonlaboratory settings.
There is no taxpayer funding involved. The sanctuaries are welcoming and the transport is provided by animal rescue groups.
Please call your representative in Congress to finally pass Violet’s Law.
