RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – A family in Black Hawk is asking for the public’s help to locate Daisy, their white German Shepherd, who reportedly ran away Friday night after being spooked by nearby fireworks.
Daisy is more than just a pet – she’s a service animal helping Anthony Olson, who lives with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva, a rare genetic disorder affecting about 800 people in the world.
“She really protects us,” Olson said. “She loves up on us every day. I couldn’t ask for a better dog.”
Daisy is likely somewhere in the hills east of Summerset near Crooked Canyon Road.
If you have any information on Daisy’s whereabouts, contact Rose Ann Olson at (307) 290-2119.
