BOSTON — At the beginning of January, premium seafood supplier North Coast Seafoods announced that its newest pet food product line, Boat to Bowl™ Pet Foods, is now available in-store and online via Target.

Founded in 1957, North Coast Seafoods specializes in sustainable, premium seafood products. The company leverages its expertise in seafood production to create Boat to Bowl Pet Foods, a line that offers fish-based dog and cat food formulas and treats.

“We are thrilled to bring Boat to Bowl Pet Foods to Target guests across the country,” said Jon Wooner, pet products director at North Coast Seafoods. “As a company, exceptional quality and sustainability have always been our guiding light. With the launch of this new line, we are not only offering a wholesome, nutritious and delicious option for pets but also supporting sustainable fishing practices and the work of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).”

North Coast sources all wild fish used in its Boat to Bowl recipes from MSC-certified, sustainable fisheries to ensure responsible sourcing. Additionally, the MSC’s blue fish label can be found on all Boat to Bowl packaging, indicating the sustainable certification to consumers.

In addition to its dry cat foods, Boat to Bowl also offers meal toppers to provide optimal nutrition to cats and dogs.

Boat to Bowl products available at Target will include three dry kibble formulas for cats, two food toppers and a Wild Alaskan Omega 3 Fish Oil Food Topper. The complete-and-balanced products include grain-inclusive Wild Seafood Recipe, grain-free Wild Salmon Recipe, and grain-free Wild Cod and Haddock Recipe for adult cats. The toppers are available in two varieties: Cod and Trout, and Salmon.

“We can’t wait to see this MSC-certified sustainable cat food in stores,” said Nicole Condon, US program director for the MSC. “North Coast Seafoods’ dedication to sustainable sourcing is clear with this new product line. The MSC blue fish on the label meets the needs of consumers who want assurances that what they are buying is from a trusted source. Pet owners — and by extension their pets — can feel good about their MSC-certified Boat to Bowl cat food knowing they’re supporting a brand that prioritizes sustainable seafood and a healthy ocean.”

North Coast’s goal with Boat to Bowl is to offer a “fresh” approach to supporting cat health and wellness through flavorful, highly digestible and nutrient-dense seafood nutrition. Through Boat to Bowl, North Coast is able to upcycle its MSC-certified fish, utilizing all aspects of its supply.

Boat to Bowl formulas are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, lean protein, pre- and probiotics, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to support healthy skin and coat and digestive, heart, immune and cognitive health. According to North Coast, the products are also great for felines with food allergies, intolerances or ingredient sensitivities as they are free from other non-fish-based animal proteins, fats and fillers, as well as wheat, corn and soy.
