A missing UK mum had been eaten by her two pet sausage dogs as she lay dead inside her home, an inquest has heard.
Jemma Hart’s partially-mauled body was discovered on January 29, 2024 after concerned neighbours contacted the police to report they had not seen or heard from the mother-of-two in weeks.
During the welfare check at her home in Swindon, police also found one of the dogs dead and the other in a distressed state.
Her son told the inquest that the dogs were her life.
“She’d had dogs in the past but in 2022 she got a dachshund called Frankie and a year later she got another one called Millie,” her son said.
“Her house backed onto Lydiard Park where she regularly walked her dogs, and the dogs were her life.”
A post-mortem report revealed Ms Hart — who experienced multiple health and mobility issues which caused her physical pain — had taken her own life and that her body was eaten after she had passed.
Cops confirmed Ms Hart’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
