Officers were called to Manor Street, Peasley Cross, at around 4.20pm last Friday, March 21, to a report that a dog had jumped and pulled a 10-year-old boy off his bike before biting the child in his back.
The child suffered cuts and abrasions to his back in the attack.
Officers attended a suspect’s address and examined the dog, which was found not to be a banned breed, police said.
