Britney Spears shows off new pooch and says she’s ‘drawn to dogs’ despite being attacked

Britney Spears has opened up on being attacked by dogs as a youngster as she introduces fans to her new puppy

Britney Spears has revealed she is still “drawn to dogs” despite being attacked by two when she was younger.

The songstress, 40, admits she had to “get to know animals” before approaching them following the childhood incident.

But now she’s absolutely loving the animals and has just added to the family with an adorable pet pooch.

The pop superstar has recently revealed the latest addition to her family to her Instagram followers after announcing she is now the proud owner of a white Australian shepherd puppy called Sawyer.

She described the pup as “unbelievably precious” in a sweet post.

Taking to the social media site to make her announcement, she wrote: “Thank you for dogs! Dog spelled backwards is God…not sure any correlation but I do think that dogs are extraordinary animals!

“Although I’ve been attacked by 2 dogs in my life…I am still drawn to them!”

Britney revealed she was attacked at the age of eight by a cocker spaniel, saying the animal “scratched, bit and barked” at her until she was forced to scramble onto the bonnet of a car to escape.

In the second incident the star was 16 and was confronted by a friend’s dog. She claimed it “bit a hole in my leg and a huge hole in my jeans”.

Britney continued: “Ever since then I have to get to know animals before I really approach them… I have several small animals and my baby is so sweet… I’ve never even heard her bark !!!

“My dogs are unbelievably precious.”

The latest addition is the star’s most recent step away from the conservatorship which ruled her life for 13 years. The legal order came to an end last November and Britney has been making up for lost time since.

She is currently engaged to actor Sam Asghari, 28, with the pair spending a lot of time in luxurious locations as they live life to the full.

The singer has admitted that she is ready to start a family with her beau, who she has been dating since 2016.

Earlier in the month she uploaded a romantic snap of the happy couple standing in front of a beautiful seaside sunset and captioned the image: “Happy Birthday to my Fiancé … I love you so much … I want a family with you … I want it all with you !!!!”

And Sam was quick to respond, saying: “Millions of things to wish for. I only have one wish.”

Britney currently has two teen kids with her ex Kevin Federline – Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15.
