INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — His name is George — a 7-year-old black-and-white Siberian husky we adopted in September from Kaleidoscope K9s.
He was part of a bonded pair. We did our best to keep them both, but the other dog was only 3 years old and had too much energy and it didn’t work out.
Luckily, the rescue we got them from found a home for her in Lake County with a family that also had a husky.
George did not do well being an only dog. He carried around stuffed animals and cried for the first few months.
I took him to the dog park twice a day, and still do, to have him interact with other dogs. He gets along perfectly with all the other dogs, big or small, male or female.
He’s gotten better about being an only dog and doesn’t cry as much, but still loves to carry his stuffed animals around from room to room.
We have a cat that wants to play with him, but we haven’t introduced them yet.
I truly believe George was sent to us by Bruce, the husky we lost just two weeks before rescuing George. He’s a great dog and we love him to death.
