PALMDALE — Car buyers can get a new vehicle and adopt a pet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Antelope Valley Nissan.
The dealership, at 451 Auto Center Drive, will cover all adoption fees. The pet adoption event is a collaboration with the Palmdale Animal Care Center.
Food and drinks will be provided.
“We are covering the cost of the adoption and are hoping to break our record of 16 pets to find their forever home,” Bret Hart, service and parts director of Antelope Valley Volkswagen, wrote in an email.
They were able to find forever home for 16 pets in December at the Volkswagen dealership. They usually try to do the pet adoption event two to three times a year at the dealership.
“This will be the first event at the Nissan dealership, and yes, as long as there are pets in need, we will be here to help them find their new forever homes,” Hart wrote.
Between 24 and 30 cats and dogs will be available for adoption, with the possibility of more coming in. The pets expected to be available for adoption at the event include Ruppert, a 1-year-old or older lack and brown male German shepherd, and Toki, a white male 1-year-old or older Siberian husky mix.
