The study found that cats could navigate even the narrowest of gaps, although they slowed down before approaching the tightest spaces, suggesting they consciously evaluate their body size when confronted with difficult passages.
While cats often use a trial-and-error approach when moving through tight spaces due to their anatomical build and careful movements, they seem to rely on internal awareness of their body dimensions in especially narrow situations.
