Celebrate the Dog Days of Summer in Annandale

Bring your furry friend to a Dog Days of Summer event on Saturday, July 27, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space, 7200 Columbia Pike in Annandale.

Here’s what’s planned:

  • Doggy games and contests – Show off your pup’s skills in a friendly costume competition. Sign up here.
  • Meet local vendors and pick up treats, toys, and other dog items.
  • Yappy Hour for humans – Mingle with other dog lovers and enjoy refreshments.
  • Pawsome picnic area – Bring a blanket and relax on the lawn with your furry friend.

This free event is organized by the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Development’s Community Revitalization Section and the Park Authority. Celebrate Fairfax! is providing support.

Dogs must be leashed and have valid licenses and up-to-date vaccinations. Pet owners must use poop bags (for their dogs).

The next event at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space, Aug. 17, is an Art Appreciation Festival.
