Marie McNair, the member of the Scottish parliament for Clydebank and Milingavie, is set to judge the competition along with her office dog, Heidi, after they won the title last year.
The judging, which takes place on Monday, April 28, will announce a new top dog, Holyrood Dog of the Year.
Heidi is the MSP’s “beloved office dog” who is said to regularly attend team meetings.

It was a real shock when we won last year, and Heidi has loved wearing the crown for the past year.
“Dogs bring such joy to our lives, and this competition is a great way to show this. It also gives us the chance to highlight the importance of animal welfare issues, like ethical breeding and responsible ownership.”
“I am looking forward to meeting all the lovely dogs this year and crowning the next winner.”
The competition is organised jointly by Dogs Trust and The Kennel Club and offers the chance for MSPs to show off their four-legged friend and celebrates the unique bond between dogs and their owners.
The event also encourages open dialogue on dog welfare issues in addition to providing an opportunity for MSPs to meet with experts to discuss all aspects of the canine world.
