Every year, approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter shelters nationwide, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Of those, about 3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats.
Each week, The Arizona Republic highlights a handful of the many pets up for adoption at Valley shelters. To check the status of a specific animal, please contact the shelter directly.
Comet is an affectionate 5-year-old female who was returned because her owner moved into assisted living. She is a sweet girl with no behavior issues. She came from a home with one other cat that she was raised with and a dog. We don’t know how she would be with children. Comet likes to be handled and brushed and loves treats.
Sun Cities 4 Paws is a Partner of Best Friends and is participating in the Bring Love Home Challenge this June 1-30! Help us find loving homes for the kittens and cats.
