Cowboy Caturday set to support the care of thousands of KC cats

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Cowboy Caturday is set to flood Kansas City’s Crossroads with cowboy boots and cat ears all in the name of a good cause.

KC Pet Project has announced that Cowboy Caturday will return to the Crossroads between noon and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5. The unique cat-themed pub crawl is expected to bring animal lovers and adventurers together in a day of fun fundraising.

With nine bars, distilleries and breweries, organization officials said attendees are set to enjoy themed drinks, specials and a purr-fectly good time as they raise money for the care of 8,000 cats and kittens that come into the shelter each year.

Advocates said participants would get a swag bag that features light-up cat ears and access to exclusive drink specials at each venue. The event is set to combine the best of cowboy and cat cultures.

“Cowboy Caturday is one of the most exciting and unique events of the year,” said Teresa Johnson, CEO of KC Pet Project. “It’s an opportunity for the community to come together, have fun, and raise essential funds for the thousands of cats and kittens that rely on our shelter for care. We can’t wait to see everyone light up the Crossroads in support of our feline friends.”

The shelter said those interested can get tickets for $35 for one and $65 for two with prices set to increase on Oct. 3 to $45 for one and $80 for two. Tickets will also be available the day-of at the event check-in at City Barrel Brewing Company, 1740 Holmes St.

KC Pet Project said proceeds would go to the medical care, shelter and adoption efforts for cats and kittens in its care. The Caturday in the Crossroads raffle is also now open with tickets for $5, 3 for $10, or 7 for $20. Those interested do not have to attend the event to win big prizes, which include a $500 gift card to Southwest Airlines.

Raffle tickets can be purchased HERE or in person at the event. Winners will be drawn when the event is over.
