STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A 9-foot alligator seemed to be looking for its next meal before it was wrangled by two deputies from the Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO).
Deputies say the gator caused concern for dog walkers after it was spotted hiding in a patch of sea grapes near a popular dog walking place in Sailfish Point. A few days earlier the same gator was seen crossing from the riverside to the beachside and concealing itself near a popular walk area, the sheriff's office continues.
On Tuesday, the alligator returned to the beachside and decided to become a resident at a community condominium.

The gator prompted MCSO deputies Crystal Nash and Dawn Ferris to respond to the call and confirmed the gator was “too close for comfort for dog walkers and the community.”
The two deputies were able to contain the gator while a professional trapper was called to wrangle the reptile.
Deputies say the gator was captured and relocated.
MCSO wants to remind the community that gators live on the riverside and will often travel to the beachside. The sheriff's office warns if a person is walking their pet near patches of bushes or grapes, they should stay alert because these areas can serve as concealment areas for a gator.
