A 4-year-old girl is at Nebraska Medicine after she was attacked by a dog Tuesday afternoon.The attack happened near 135th & L Street shortly after 2 p.m. A police report from Omaha Police says dispatch responded to a call where the 4-year-old was bit by a dog but police had yet to locate the dog. The report goes on to state that the victim's mother, Danielle Stratman, hid from police eventually changing out of her bloody clothes and hiding them under a bed.Animal Control was able to locate the dog, which belonged to the mother's boyfriend, Greg Preister. The dog was voluntarily surrendered to Animal Control who took it to the Nebraska Humane Society which put the dog down.”We immediately euthanized the dog and sent the tissue out for testing due to the severity of the injuries and where they were located,” Pam Wiese with NHS said. “It needs to be expedited because the injuries were very close to the brain.” Both Stratman and Preister were arrested for obstruction. Stratman was also found to have a Judge's No Contact Order against her after being arrested for child abuse and domestic assault earlier this month.Preister was also given a handful of citations including harboring a dangerous dog and pet damaging property.Click here for the latest headlines from KETV NewsWatch 7
